The Program

Since 1985, BoarsHead has provided professional training via an aggressively hands-on, season-long internship experience. Interns are involved in EVERY facet of the BoarsHead operation — YOU ARE A MEMBER OF OUR FAMILY! The hours are long but the rewards are many: Interns leave BoarsHead with amazing resume credits, an incredible breadth of knowledge about how professional theater is produced, and contacts, contacts, contacts!

In today's job market, it is imperative to have on-the-job experience. In the arts especially, formal education alone is not sufficient for a successful career. Second Company interns are exposed to all areas of the theater in order to gain knowledge of the inner workings of professional nonprofit theater. The program is designed to nurture future theater leaders.

The internship is a full-time, full-season commitment — approximately mid-August to mid-June.

The Second Company work in all aspects of the theater, including box office, artistic direction, production, tech, and administration. Interns are the running crew for main stage productions and the cast for the Studio Series. When appropriate, interns may understudy for the main stage and may possibly be cast in supporting roles for main stage
